Linda’s passion for gardening started
when she was a little girl helping tend her grandfather’s
seaside garden in Bristol, Rhode Island. In 1999 she turned this
lifelong passion into her profession
when she left a successful 16-year career as a financial services
marketing executive.
After graduating from the Master Gardener Program at URI Linda went
on to attend the prestigious Landscape Design Institute at the Arnold
Arboretum of Harvard University. Prior to establishing Linda Finn
Garden Design where she has completed commissions for homes, municipal
parks and businesses, Linda worked with renowned gardener Sean Conway
at his Nursery of Uncommon Plants in Tiverton, RI. In 2004 Linda
completed an intensive workshop in London with Dan
Pearson, widely
regarded as the “leading designer and plantsman in Europe today”,
and the author of several books including, The Garden, A Year At
Home Farm and The Essential Garden Book.
Linda’s background in project management and creative problem
solving compliment her hard-earned expertise in site assessment,
plant suitability and design. Her gardens reveal an artist's eye
for color and form, and an innate sense of place.
